Hiking – Nature Trails/Continued closure of the footbridge leading to the McFee Creek observation deck

The Municipality of Venise-en-Québec announces that the closure of the footbridge on the Nature Trail, which leads to the McFee Creek observation deck, has been extended until further notice.

Assessment and safety work is required before it can reopen, and this important step has become a matter of civil liability. The Municipality asks all walkers to respect the signage in place and not to access the structure under any circumstances. Compliance with this prohibition is essential to ensure everyone’s safety.

“The safety of our citizens is our absolute priority. While we are aware of the inconvenience this extended closure causes for regular trail users, we cannot compromise,” says Mélanie Ménard, Mayor of the Municipality of Venise-en-Québec. “Our teams are working to find a lasting solution so that everyone can once again enjoy this beautiful environment in complete safety. We thank the public for their patience and understanding.”

The Municipality will share further information on the work timeline as soon as the repair plan has been finalized.
