From 2 p.m., reports will be broadcast on screen. A special broadcast produced by l’ASTROLab du parc national du Mont-Mégantic will be presented there.

The region where the eclipse will be total (the band of totality) will cross all of southern Quebec. We will be able to observe the phenomenon during which we will be plunged into darkness.

Venise-en-Québec is in the best place to experience this unique moment.

A solar eclipse is an extremely rare astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the shadow of the moon completely hides the sun for a moment.

Observing the eclipse during the partial phase without adequate protection is likely to result in eye damage, which may be temporary or more rarely permanent, due to burns to the retina (located at the back of the eye), and this without feeling pain, following direct exposure to intense sunlight.

On April 8, 2024, the start of the partial eclipse for Venise-en-Québec is at 2:14 p.m.. Start of totality at 3:26 p.m. Maximum eclipse at 3:27 p.m. End of totality at 3:29 p.m. End of the partial eclipse at 4:37 p.m.
